The Township of Hillsborough is seeking qualified candidates for immediate full-time and/or part-time openings, for Building Inspector, Electrical Inspector, Plumbing Inspector and Fire/Electrical Inspector. They will be responsible for daily field inspections, as assigned by, and under the direct supervision of, the full-time Subcode Officials. Full-time openings are AFSCME Union positions with a 40-hour work week, Monday-Friday. Starting full-time salary $77,000.00 as per current Union contract. $50.00 per hour for part-time positions. Each position has potential for an additional year-end stipend payment for using a second technical license. Inspection tools and Township vehicle provided for inspections. The Division of Property Management & Construction has a job posting for a Plumbing Sub-Code Official/Plan reviewer. This position will be responsible for performing highly technical and detailed plumbing & mechanical plan reviews on new and existing state facilities under our purvey.
Our unit is codified under NJAC 5:23-4.9(b) & 5:23-4.10(b) DPMC is not DCA, we are not bound by the rules of conflict that DCA employees must abide by.(perform contracting work or hold a part time inspection position)
This position will be listed as Construction Management Specialist 2 Plumbing Sub Code Official, Salary R-29 Step 4 currently $105878.90; this will contractually increase to $109584.66 the first full pay period in July. The job is a 40-hour work week, based in our office in Trenton. After a waiting period the employees may be eligible to remote work up to 2 days a week, currently the Plan and Code Review Unit all work remotely on Wednesdays and Fridays. The candidate must be able to use Microsoft office programs, the ability to use a computer, be able to read plans and cite the UCC and the technical codes under the Plumbing Subcode responsibilities, effectively communicate with coworkers, architects, engineers, and using agency project managers.

We are seeking a Building Inspector in our Code/Construction Department; who will be responsible for inspecting new and existing buildings and structures to ensure compliance with the NJ UCC. Ideal candidate should possess RCS, ICS, and HHS licenses issued by DCA and have knowledge of the preparation of violation notices and structural design and analysis techniques necessary to check compliance with the State UCC. Full time hours are Monday - Friday 7:00 am - 3:30 pm, Part time hours are Mon/Wed/Fri - 7:00 am - 3:30 pm. Starting salary $69,725 per year, $33.52 per hour.
